Walking gently but steadily uphill, this ancient trade route that connected Africa to the Caliphate in Cordoba, passes through traditional white villages that once stood guard on the frontier separating Christians from Moors.

The scenery changes daily as we take in coastal hinterland, lush mediterranean 'jungle', and karstic limestone crags.
